Materials: everything will be provided but if people have an extra vacuum and lots of dust rags that might help
Project #3: home in Fort Walton Beach
Leader: Pastor Sam Blowes 699-9352
Description: This is the same house that Sam’s group did last time. This would be a good one to bring some kids. The lady still talks about the two little girls that sat with her and held her hand to this day. She has pictures of them right next to her chair that she sits in daily. And the little girls still visit her now and then. The lady eats it up!! When you have someone who is shut in their home, they treasure the little things like just spending time with other people. Shoreline certainly made an impact in this women’s life.
Manpower: 5 to 7 people
Needs: Clean siding on outside of house, awnings and soffits (they will supply cleaner, and spray pump to apply, then use garden hose to rinse). Clean windows outside using same cleaner and spray pump. If someone has a power-washer that might be helpful.
Materials: will be provided
Project #4: home in Fort Walton Beach
Leader: Tim Egstad 596-7475
Description: This couple has had a very hard life. Tons of physical ailments. The wife is covered in welts all over her body and has a prosthetic leg. Her husband has heart problems that limit him from doing some of the things needed around the house.
Manpower: 12 to 14 people
Need: They currently have a tarp over their trailer and it has holes in it. They are asking for another tarp over the first one to keep the water out. The side of the trailer has a hole in it and they would like to have it covered to discourage the visiting squirrel! They are also asking for a tree to be removed that fell in the front yard and some very basic yard cleanup. We would love to be able to give them a new roof and remove the tarps all together. We’re working on that!! Shoreline could make a huge impact on these people’s life.
Materials: will be provided, bring tools for repair to the trailer and yard tools. Also, a chain saw for the tree
