Life Group Central

The spring semester doesn’t kick off until Get Life Day on February 1st. However, most fall semester groups wrap up the week before Christmas and don’t meet in January. For this reason, I stopped collecting attendance numbers on December 20th. This semester, we had a total of 2,255 Life Group attendees, with an average weekly attendance of 150. Coffee and girl talk… what better way to start the day? And you can do it twice a week with other Shoreline ladies! Thursdays in Destin and Fridays in Fort Walton Beach. Call for locations.

Everyone is talking about the economy these days. Want to know what God says about money? Check out this group. They’ve met once, but there are still six more meetings.

At the next meeting of the Mad Scientists, they will be studying gravity, conservation of energy, and building potato cannons. They will use the cannons to experiment with the energy equations they learned and using this data, try to hit targets. If that sounds like fun to you, call Josh at (352) 262-5304.

Shoreline offers two Life Groups specifically for young adults: Wii Fresh and The Edge. This Sunday, they’ll both be going to Jambone in Santa Rosa Beach to hear Shannon Cherry’s band play. If you want to go, call Chesed at 585-5459 or Shannon at 502-9700.

The next Get Life Day is September 7th (or 9th, if you attend the Tuesday night service at McGuire’s). This fall we’re offering 36 Life Groups, which will be divided into the following categories:

Church Life - 5
Personal Growth - 5
Relationships - 11
Impact Zone (Men) - 2
Radiant (Women) - 7
Young Adults - 2
Student Ministry - 4

While I’m glad some of our favorite groups will be returning, I’m really excited about the 12 new groups that have never been offered until now. We also have 20 people who will either be leading or co-leading for the first time! It will be refreshing to see all the new faces!
